Dinner will be served in a beautiful 1920’s historic villa in the centre of Taormina where you are the guest of a passionate Sicilian chef who opens her home to very few guests. You will be introduced to authentic Sicilian gastronomy, tasting receipts that have been handed down over countless generations with views across both Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea.
2. Azure Waters of the Ionian Sea
Europe’s most impressive volcano and one of the most active in the world, Mount Etna showcases the raw power of nature. Explore recent lava flows, skirt around the rim of the craters and dodge steam vents before descending into an extraordinary lava cave.
Board a luxurious motor yacht to explore the azure waters of the Ionian Sea. Visit the Grotto Azzurra, the bay of Mermaids and the iconic Isola Bella, stopping to explore, swim and relax beneath the sun. Lunch will be indulged in a charming bistro along the coastline and overlooking the lapsing waves and golden bays.
3. Valley of the temples
A helicopter will take you from Taormina to the ancient Valley of Temples where you’ll delve into Sicilian history exploring the grand columns that have stood high above the Mediterranean for over 2,500 years. A freshly prepared private picnic awaits you in the Garden of Kolymbethra, a fragrant space of almond, olive and citrus groves. Sit back and relax as you sample the famous arancini, sardines “beccafico”, Sicilian caponata and many others.
